A nickname for a name?

I REALLY would like to name my daughter a nickname. It is Sami. Short for Samantha. I really do not like the name Samantha. I think the name Sami is cute. I am also open to different spelling choices like Samie, Sammey, Samey. Samiy, Sammy, Tell me which one you like the best. What is your opinion on me naming a baby girl a nickname???
