Is it very expensive to get checked and have tests done for epilepsy? Without good insurance?

I have insurance, but not the best. I need to get tests run to see what type i have so that I may eventually get medications, but I don't want to have to pay SOO much money, since I actually wouldn't be paying for it.. my mom would. So... help? Mucho expensive?
