CHEMISTRY QUESTION NEED HELP!?

ok when water is added to liquid silicon tetrachlroide a solid and a gas are produced. the solid is the only oxide of silicon while the gas dissovles to form hydrochloric acid. i just have to write a balance chemical equation but i dont know what silicon oxide is. is is SiO2 or is it Si2 or sumthing
