I'm being sued, what is going to happen to me?
I'm being sued for lightly bumping into a car. There was no damage and they used the jaws of life to get him out. I was so scared. They said he had a previous injury. The next day they got a lawyer. The roads were covered with snow and it was dark and icy. This is what happened before I hit him: I was coming home from work and the car was already stopped but I could not tell; it looked like he was driving slowly so I started slowing down. He turned his signal light at the turn while he was already stopped; he stopped because another car was coming down the road. I didn't know he was turning so I slammed the breaks and tried to fight against skidding and I bumped into him from behind. I felt a little shock. It was my first accident so I thought there was a lot of damage but I got out and looked at our bumpers and there was no damage, it was weird. Anyways, I didn't mean to hit him and the weather was bad and they're suing me for health repairs (they said there was a previous injury). They used the jaws of life to get him out too. What's going to happen? I'm a college student in another state too.
