Am i going through menopause?

For about 2 years ive been spotting between my periods, basicly i was bleeding every other week and my doctor told me it was uterine fibroids, she presribed me a l gel called metronidavole and it cause me to have a white tissue like substance come out of me while i was using the bathroom, could i be going through menopause or does this sound like something else? Help please!
